What to do with all of these magnets that come on the phone books? It seems like we get phone books each week. I really need to call and get them to stop delivering them.
So instead of throwing them away, I decided that they would be a good way to put up scripture that I want displayed.
So now instead of note cards on the fridge, I have much cuter magnets.
I just printed off the scripture and modge podged them to the magnets.
You could get really creative and add all sorts of embellishments, to make them even cuter.
They are the new permanent addition to the fridge, and I love reading the word several times a day!

Free ABC book
This is not really a craft, but I made it, so it is blog worthy. I learned about a site called hot prints from this cute blog.
I have been wanting to make Brady an ABC book, with pictures of him for the letters. For example, A is for apple, and there would be a picture of Brady with an apple. I was just going to make a scrapbook, or do a picture album, but this is such a cute idea, I had to steal it.
It is kinda flimsy, definitely not shutterfly quality, but for free it is awesome. And free shipping too! Brady really likes it. I should have waited for his birthday, but he has had a hard week, and I love to spoil him.
Here is a page from his book
It also has all of his family in it, so he can pick out his favorites. (Always cousin Zack)
Daddy was so nice to read Brady's new book to him
See those bags under his eyes? Check out our family blog to see why.
Next month I think I will do a 2009 book. The month after, maybe a 2008 book. My options are endless! If you like making photo books, then try these out for free!

Crayon Roll
I have had the crayon roll on my list of things to do for a while.
If I would have known how easy it was I would have whipped up some a long time ago.
I made one for Brady for his Easter basket. His has the larger crayons, but the smaller ones can also fit in easily.
I also made some for my little cousins, whose birthday's are next month. Along with a coloring book and a few other things, and it should be a great gift.
I used this fantastic tutorial. She has some really cute ones.
I am thinking these as possible party gifts for Brady's birthday.
They are so easy, and fun! Try it!

Felt Letters
Brady and I are starting to work on learning his letters, well I already know them, but he is learning. :) So far every letter is B and R. Which is great progress since those are the first two letters of his name. I mean he is only 21 months.
I decided that he needed some letters to look at and play with. I have seen cute rag letters that I really liked, but Brady is still a bit young. It would be one more thing left in the play room. I like magnet letters, but I was afraid they would scratch the fridge. So I combined the two and made felt magnetic letters and numbers.
They are just two layers of felt sewn together, with a magnet in the middle. I hand sewed them because it was actually quicker than sewing them on the sewing machine. They may not be safe for children who tend to eat things, because of the magnet, but Brady is pretty much past that stage.
Where is the R? Missing already! Don't worry I found it later in the pantry.
Of course the letters need a place to live so I also made a little bag for them. That way they don't always have to be on the fridge.

Springtime wreath
Now that Easter is over, I had to change the burlap wreath. Honestly, I am kind of getting tired of the wreath, but I am not sure what else to do yet. So for now I just added some springy fabric flowers.
First I cut the fabric into strips. I wanted it messy just like the burlap.
Then I sewed an easy gathering stitch on all my strips.
Ruffled the strips, and made them into flowers.
I also added a ribbon so that I could easily tie the flowers on to the wreath.
Not sure if I LOVE it, but it works for now. I am on the hurt for a new cute wreath!

Alterations
A while ago I posted about some shorts on my personal blog. Well I got the shorts, three pair actually. That day was a great shopping trip, I got 3 pairs of shorts, a pair of jeans and a shirt for $16! I am a bargain hunter I tell you!
So the shorts were so cheap because they were a size 14. Which is fine but a little large for me. I just had to have them for $1.88, plus %40 off that, so I altered them. It wasn't too hard, and I am happy with how they turned out. They are not too big, but they are also not short and skin tight like the ones my size would have been.
I hope to try them out this weekend, in Vegas! We are going for my sweet hubby's 30th birthday, and I am super excited. This will be the first time I am without Brady for more than 5 hours, not counting sleeping time, so it will be hard for me. But I am so excited to relax with my best friend and have nice peaceful meals.
Maybe I will get some better pics this weekend, but it is hard, I am definitely not a model.
Jerm laughed saying he was blinded by the whiteness of my legs! I agree, but no worries, I just sprayed some self tanner on, and hopefully no one will be blinded.
I also found a super cheap bathing suit, years ago, I think before Brady was born. For some reason, I bought a small top and a large bottom, probably all they had on clearance. I had no business buying a bikini at the time, but it has been a goal of mine to wear it. Thankfully the bottoms are now too big, but once again I like the coverage they have. So to ensure that they wouldn't fall off I took them in too. I did not cut any part of the suit just in case something comes undone. It was super easy.
And I think they were %50 off that price!
Sorry, you couldn't pay me enough to model a bathing suit!
Not perfect, but I am pretty sure no one will notice.
And really, don't worry if you will be in Vegas this weekend, I have a super cute cover up to hide under!
Won't be crafting in Vegas, but I will share more stuff when we get back. Have an awesome weekend!

A little jewlery
I am back! I hope to show you what I have been up to soon.
Along with Resurrection Sunday, it was also my Mom's birthday on Easter. Sadly we couldn't be there to celebrate with her this year, so we sent her a few things.
Along with an some shirts and a dress, Brady colored his Grandma a card, and I made her some jewelry.
Brady's card
I made this matching necklace, bracelet, and earrings. The necklace is long, and the set can dress up a simple outfit easily.
This blue necklace is a bit out of my Mom's comfort zone, but it is still neat.
Making jewelry is really very easy once you get a few essential tools. You can get inspiration from jewelry at stores, and normally make them a lot cheaper. Try it is you haven't yet, good luck!
