Baby Girl Gifts

Can you tell I am procrastinating on showing you pictures of our everything room? It is not like it is some big secret, or a huge reveal or anything, but this weekend should be a massive move of toys from that room, so a lot will change, and then pics will follow.

I currently know 12 pregnant women! A few weeks ago, it was more, but ladies finally started popping out some cuties! The first was a doctor friend of Jeremy's, who he works with. It is their second little girl, and we wanted to get them a little something. Because I have sooo much stuff, I was able to whip up a few girly things without even going to the store.
A crunchy ribbon blankie with minky
Minky burp cloths, for spitting up in style
And a sweet bib with minky on the back.
Everything turned out nicely, and most important they liked it, yay!

Fall Decor

Okay, so I lied. I did not get to posting this weekend. But today is better than never right?
I literally did this stuff right after labor day. It has been up in the house (getting dusty) since, and I am just now blogging about it. There were a few more projects I really wanted to do before Thanksgiving, and maybe it will still happen, but I would rather get ready for Christmas instead.

Here are some of the things I made this fall.
After having leftover acorns from my wreath, I decided to put them in a vase for a fall touch.
(I made sure all the acorns were very dried out and bug less before bringing them into the house.)
I tied some twine and ribbon around the base and they have a nice fall feel.
Also with the twine I made some fall frames.
I found some old frames in the goodwill pile
I covered the metal one with masking tape, because other wise I was not sure my hotglue would stick
I slowly glued the twine all around the frame until it was covered.
And I now have a fall frame that has been saved from the goodwill pile
I used the other frame too. I covered this one in dollar store leaves.
Excuse the bad picture, but it is covered in leaves, and really cute. Even craft scrooge, Jerm thought it was.
Because there were a million leaves in one pack, and I bought two, I was able to make a leaf garland for the fireplace.
I slowly just added more leaves as I was sewing, so easy!
The last thing I did with the leaves, was just put them in another vase, and of course add twine.
 Pretty vase of leaves
That scarecrow came from this deconstructed dollar store wreath.
After adding some other fake leaves I had lying around, with of course hot glue, I got this beauty.
The "Give Thanks" sign was done on a piece of scrap wood. Wouldn't it look so much better in vinyl, with a circut? A girl can dream.

This behind the kitchen sick arrangement, was a dollar store decorative broom I tore up, and plain ole dollar store pumpkins. I like them the way they are but the options are endless.
Of course our decor includes pumpkin candy corns!
And a garland with more pumpkins around my candles, on the table.

I think that is it! It is really fun to decorate for the holidays, and I cannot wait to add to it year after year. I hope you are truly blessed, as I am this holiday season.

More baby stuff

What a month! If you want to, even care, you can read all about our craziness on my family blog. Life is starting to get back to normal and I am so excited! I even sewed something on Sunday. I have soooo many projects that still need to be done. So I am ready to get back to work.

When my mom was here, almost two months ago, I made some things for her to take back to Houston. My cousin is having a baby girl, so I made some things for her to get at her baby shower. Her shower was this past weekend so I can finally post them.

As normal I was in a hurry, but here are the rushed pictures.

Everything tied up in a bow
Minky and Cotton Blanket
Front of Chenilled bib
 Back of Chenilled Bib
 Two Chenilled Burp Cloths
Baby legs with ruffles and fabric flowers (the ruffles are hiding)
A Minky and Cotton, Crunchy, Ribbon, Blankie

I love making baby things! Can you tell?
I have needed to post my fall decor things that have been up since the day after labor day! That will be my blogging goal this weekend.
Hope you are all blessed!

Personalized Labels

I wanted to show you how to make personalized labels to go onto your creations. Even if the things you make are just for yourself, or gifts and not to sell, it is still a nice way to add a fun extra to your item. This can also be a way to add a tag to your child's clothing so that things do not get lost. The options are endless, but the process is so easy!
The supplies you will need are:

Ribbon - I like grosgrain, but my favorite to use for this project is twill tape.
Paint - acrylic or fabric paint, color of choice
Scrap felt - I used white, but it does not matter.
Stamps - You can order a custom stamp, but I used some wonderful hand me down stamps from my mom.

So first you want to decide on your label design. Once you have decided on your design of your label, you put down some paint, with felt on top. You let the paint seep through and use the felt as an ink pad.
Then you start stamping your design on your twill tape. I keep the tape all together so that it is easier to store, and cut a label off as I need it.
Here are my two designs, the bottom one I fold over and use like the produce bags, the top one I use to sew more like a flat clothing label.
After I had stamped the entire roll of twill, I ironed it, but that is just because I heard one time that you are supposed to heat set acrylic paint. I do not think that is necessary if you are using fabric paint.
So there you have it. Ready to cut and use. The options are endless. Imagine with different colors and fun, fancy stamps. I told you it was easy. Now go personalize something!

Two year old Fairy Outfit

For Brady's 2 year old friend, Dacia's birthday I made her some dress up clothes. They are fun and girly and I think she will have fun with them.
The ribbon, ready to bake in the oven at 250 for about 20 minutes or so. This makes the cute corkers, perfect for bows too.
Here is the tutu, with green and white tulle, pink ribbon, and a pink daisy flower. The tulle is sewn into the pink and white cute elastic.
The fairy wand is a wooden dowel with ribbon wrapped around it, flowers hot glued on top and the cute corker ribbons.
I did not purchase the wings, but lets just say I got them from one of my favorite cheap places where everything is a dollar. I sewed and glued the flower on to coordinate with the rest of the outfit.
This is the head band. It is the pink elastic, with corker ribbons.
Her outfit is complete. Cute! Other than the wings, I had most of these things in my stash. This combined with a Alphabet floor puzzle should be a great present for cute Dacia.

Flower Dish Towel

The other day I was procrastinating and not cleaning, like normal, and I had the urge to do a quick sewing project.

I looked in my stash and found some ribbon, and some left over dish towel cloth.

Then I started playing with the ribbon, and just sewed it on. Nothing perfect, but it was nice and relaxing.

Nothing special, but at least now I have a new dish towel.
