Sesame Street Birthday

Yesterday was Brady's 2nd birthday bash. He had a Sesame Street party in honor of his obsession with Elmo and Sesame Street. As normal I made quite a few things for his party. I was too busy being hostess and did not have time to take good pics, sorry.

First was the Elmo invite.

I tried to make Elmo cupcakes, on a cupcake stand I made. Not up to my standards, but Brady still likes them.

What a great day for our sweet boy! Can't believe he is two!

Rollie Pollie

For my sweet nephew's birthday, which is today, I made a Rollie Pollie also known as a bean bag chair.
(Sorry the bad pic, taken 5 seconds before going to party)

I used this pattern, and I had a blast making it. the pattern was easy to follow, and simple to make. It was my very first time sewing a zipper, and I think I did well.

There were a few bummers. The stuffing for the chair she suggests, I could not find, and also it seemed it would be really pricey. I had to substitute a normal bean bag chair stuffing instead.

$15 walmart bean bag chair I stole the inerds out of. Now what to do with this vinyl stuff?

Also, I thought it would be an inexpensive gift, but after everything, it was more than I wanted to pay, and I planned on making three! Because Brady and my niece all have birthdays around the same time, I was going to make them all one. If I might of known the costs, I probably would not have done that. Oh well, it is too late, fabric is bought and I am already committed!

I really like how it turned out. In a perfect world, it would have more stuffing, but again the costs! It was really fun to make, and I know at least one kid who will love his in about a week!

Flower Dish Towel

The other day I was procrastinating and not cleaning, like normal, and I had the urge to do a quick sewing project.

I looked in my stash and found some ribbon, and some left over dish towel cloth.

Then I started playing with the ribbon, and just sewed it on. Nothing perfect, but it was nice and relaxing.

Nothing special, but at least now I have a new dish towel.

Monster doll

Since I made a black apple doll for my girl cousin for her birthday, my little 4 year old boy cousin needed something too. I decided he needed a boy type doll. So I made him a monster.

He is made out of felt, which is super easy to sew, and very kid durable.

After sewing his face, legs, and arms, I sandwiched all the parts together and sewed them right sides together.

Left a hole, and turned him right side out.

Stuffed him to completed cuddlyness.

And sewed his hole shut. Now he is a cute little friend, perfect for a little boy. No way anyone can ever be scared of monsters with this little guy around!

Black apple doll

I finally made a little black apple doll, from Martha's site. So cute, and sweet. Her is one without her skirt.

I made one for my friend's daughter, Maddy. Her baby sister also has a matching dress. I just love matching sibling things.

I also made one for my 2 year old cousin, Jordan. Her gift also included one of the crayon rolls, crayons, and a coloring book.

I edited my dolls a little to make them more like this one, from obsessively stitching. Next time I might make them bigger, but they are cute, fun, and super simple.

baby dress

First off, I know I am a terrible blogger, but I have excuses. I won't bore you with them, but I am ready to share some crafty things.

I made this super cute baby dress using this amazing free pattern for my dear friend, Michelle's baby, Megan. She is so stinking cute, and she needed me to make her a dress.

The pattern was really little, so I just expanded it, and I think it was more Meagan's size. Because I do not have a surger, it is not as finished as I would like, but that is okay. (Don't mind the brown horse in the background, she is always in the way!)

I love the little ties. Have I mentioned I need a little girl?

She also needed a little bow.

I attached it to a clip so that she can wear it.

Love it! I could make little girl things, all day, even if no one wears them! Seriously try the pattern, so easy, and cute! Hopefully tomorrow I will show you what I made her cutie big sister. Check back!
